Hawks games head to Prime Video across five states

Atlanta Hawks fans in five states can watch their team's local games on Prime Video this season.
Local games will be available to subscribers across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and Mississippi from the 2026-27 season. Prime Video will carry every Hawks broadcast not reserved for a national outlet, at no extra charge to subscribers, according to Variety.
In practice, a standard Prime membership is enough. No sports add-on or extra fee is required inside the region. Any game earmarked as a national exclusive stays with that national broadcaster.
The coverage starts fast. Atlanta opens the regular season on Oct. 21 at the Orlando Magic. The team is scheduled to air 74 games on over-the-air television or via Prime Video.
Those 74 games are split across free TV and streaming but share one production set-up. All regular-season games not shown nationally will air on WANF and the Peachtree Sports Network under a separate deal with Gray Media. Gray's Raycom Sports will produce the games for both Gray and Prime Video. Over-the-air means anyone with an aerial can watch free, without cable or a subscription.
The Hawks' commercial business is led by president of business enterprise and chief commercial officer Andrew Saltzman, while Charlie Neiman heads sports partnerships for Prime Video. Atlanta was one of 13 NBA teams whose regional rights, the deals that cover local broadcasts in a team's home area, were previously held by Main Street Sports Group before its bankruptcy.
The 2026-27 campaign is the second year of the NBA's national rights deal with ESPN/ABC, NBC/Peacock and Prime Video, according to Sports Video Group. That national slate is separate from the local Hawks deal. The league's official list of games on Prime Video this season includes Atlanta versus Cleveland at 5:30 p.m., according to the NBA.
For fans, this means location still matters. Viewers inside the five-state region get the local Hawks feed through Prime Video or free TV. Watching those same regional games from outside a team's home market still requires NBA League Pass, the league's out-of-market subscription, according to The Athletic.
What makes this stand out is the pairing. Free TV gives the Hawks reach to anyone with an aerial. Prime Video gives streaming in the same footprint, organised around one production operation. Two doors, same game.
