The Cycle of Love will play in theatres for one night only on 1 November in a special date-night screening event. Deadline reported exclusively on 20 October that the one-day bookings run nationwide, from New York to Los Angeles to Hawaii. The timing is tight.

The date sits one day before the film moves to home viewing. It becomes available on TVOD from 2 November on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and YouTube. TVOD means transactional video on demand, where viewers rent or buy a single title to watch at home.

The film is directed by Oscar winner Orlando von Einsiedel and executive produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Deadline noted Einsiedel's Oscar-winning status when the film opened theatrically in August. An executive producer typically backs a project financially or creatively without handling day-to-day direction.

Awards season has already started for the documentary. It holds two nominations for the 11th Annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards: Best Director for von Einsiedel and Best Cinematography for Franklin Dow. The Critics Choice Association published the nominations list on 12 October, and that edition includes a Best First Documentary Feature category Critics Choice Association.

On the festival circuit, it won the Artemis Rising Foundation Award for Social Impact at the Hamptons International Film Festival. It also took audience awards at the Middleburg Film Festival and the Indie Meme Film Festival in Austin, Texas.

The return follows a small platform release handled by Variance Films. Platform release means opening on a few screens before expanding to more cities. In its second week, the film earned US$14,600 over three days in domestic theatres, the United States and Canada, for a US$32,000 cumulative total on three screens, with a four-day tally of US$17,400, in figures reported on 6 September Deadline. Variance Films had boarded the film for US theatrical distribution earlier in the year.

International sales rights were picked up by Dogwoof, as reported by Variety in February Variety. A sales agent sells distribution rights territory by territory to local buyers and distributors.

For fans, this means two clear choices. Catch the communal screening on 1 November, or rent it at home from 2 November.
