Third Rescue Attempt Made for Stranded Shark in Busan Canal

A third attempt has been made to guide a stranded shark back to open sea from a canal in Busan, South Korea, using nets, according to the BBC. BBC Seoul correspondent Jake Kwon travelled to Busan to follow the latest effort.
The shark, nicknamed Bukangi, is female and measures 9ft 10in (3m). She was first spotted on September 18 in the Busan waterway, a city canal in the south-east of the country.
Her presence has drawn large crowds. Reuters reported that about 600,000 visitors had come to see the shark in the canal as a rescue bid failed. Reuters
Earlier efforts had not succeeded. A second attempt to guide her back to the sea ended without success, and she remained stranded in the canal, Reuters reported.
The BBC reported that the shark may have been drawn to the canal by unusually warm water and plenty of fish.
Concern about her survival has grown. The Independent reported that a third rescue attempt had been planned for a Wednesday, and that an expert warned the shark may have only about two weeks to live. The Independent
