Wendy Eisenberg has released a surprise two-song package, and it comes with a new band attached. The package, titled 'Wweennddyy Eeiisseennbbeerrgg', reworks "Meaning Business" and "The Walls" into live renditions that run 46 minutes in total, according to Pitchfork, which published the release on 21 October 2026.

Both songs first appeared on Eisenberg's self-titled album, 'Wendy Eisenberg'. For the reworks, she was joined by Mr. Bungle bassist Trevor Dunn, drummer Ryan Sawyer and violinist Mari Rubio, who performs as More Eaze.

Rubio is also the other half of Whait, a new band she and Eisenberg have formed. Whait's first song, "Falling Down", was released alongside the reworks. Stereogum reported on 20 October that the duo will release a debut album called 'sympathy at home' and shared the single from it. No release date for the album has been given.

Night School Records describes Whait as a new duo whose two members have each built separate catalogues with threads that connect. The label is marking its 15th anniversary with an event called 'Forever Is A Long Time', scheduled for Saturday 29 August. Whait is listed on the bill for the Glasgow date, and day tickets for the event have been announced.

Eisenberg's self-titled album has its own recent history in print. In an April interview with The Line of Best Fit, the outlet framed her work around the idea that melody can be as bold as any avant-garde gesture.

For listeners, the package offers a different way into two songs already on the album. The same material is played in a new setting, with a new group of players. Whait's debut, meanwhile, is the next step for the two musicians, who both put out records this year before teaming up.
