Hilary Duff announced on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, that she is releasing a holiday EP called Holiday Things, due this Friday, October 23. An EP, short for extended play, is a release shorter than a full album, usually with four to six songs.

The set has five tracks, according to the Rolling Stone track listing. Three are original songs: "I Guess It's Christmas," "All You Want for Christmas Is Me," and "I Want (A Few Small Things)." The other two are covers. One is a version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." The other is a new recording of "Last Christmas," the Wham! song that Duff first covered in 2002 on her holiday album Santa Claus Lane. For the new version, she re-recorded it under the title "Last Christmas (Mine)."

The EP has a clear link to that 2002 album. Duff first teased the project on Instagram by posting the cover of Santa Claus Lane on its 24th anniversary. She wrote that she had been thinking back over the years of holiday fun, and asked whether they should do it again this year. Billboard reported the release date and track details on the same day.

Her recent work has been busy. Her first album in a decade, Luck... or Something, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, the chart that ranks the best-selling albums in the United States each week. That album also fuels her Lucky Me arena tour, which has been extended through November 2027. Duff recorded Luck... or Something with her husband and frequent collaborator, Matthew Koma.

Earlier this month, she released the single "CATastrophe," which is on the soundtrack to The Cat in the Hat. Her earlier EP, (Mine), featured re-recorded versions of older hits, including "Come Clean," "What Dreams Are Made Of," "Wake Up," and "So Yesterday."

Holiday music has become a regular stop for Duff. In December 2025, she appeared at Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles for a live holiday radio takeover on Apple Music. She is also scheduled to perform at Jingle Ball 2026 in December, one of the season's big radio-sponsored concert tours.

For listeners, the practical detail is simple. Holiday Things arrives on Friday, October 23, 2026, in the same week the EP was announced. Fans who want the older "Last Christmas" can still find the 2002 original, and the new version sits alongside it on the EP.
