Abbott Elementary's Season 6 Premiere Reaches 6.3 Million Viewers in Seven Days

Abbott Elementary's sixth season opened to 6.3 million viewers across all platforms over seven days, according to Variety. That is the show's best seven-day audience since the third episode of Season 5, which aired on October 15, 2025.
The premiere aired on ABC on Wednesday, October 7, in the 8:30 p.m. Eastern slot. Its rating among adults aged 18 to 49, a group that networks and advertisers watch closely, came in at 2.07. A rating is the share of households or viewers in a group tuned to a show, so higher is more. Variety reported that 2.07 is the show's highest rating in more than 18 months.
Set against the Season 5 premiere, the newest episode drew 7% more viewers, up from 5.9 million. Its rating was 16% higher, up from 1.79.
The first night alone brought in 2.2 million viewers and a 0.33 rating, Variety reported. Viewing on streaming was the show's best seven-day total since the ninth episode of Season 4, which aired on January 8, 2025.
Many people also watched later. Delayed viewing, meaning shows watched after their original air time, rose 183% on streaming and 527% on other platforms, according to the same report.
Viewers who want to catch up can find new episodes each Wednesday on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET and PT. The Disney company says each episode streams the next day on Hulu and on Hulu on Disney+.
The series was created by Quinta Brunson, who also leads the cast. Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker are its showrunners, the producers who oversee the writing and day-to-day running of the show. Warner Bros. Television and 20th Television share studio credit for the series.
ABC renewed the comedy for a sixth season in March. At that point, The Hollywood Reporter reported that it was the top comedy on TV among adults 18 to 49, based on seven days of viewing across platforms, with a 1.82 rating.
Each season takes a crew, a writers' room and a cast working on a weekly schedule. The new numbers give the show a strong start to a season that will run through the fall, with the next episodes following the same Wednesday pattern.
