Obsession star Inde Navarrette has met the performer who plays her character, Nikki, at Halloween Horror Nights. She visited Universal Studios Hollywood's event in Los Angeles over a weekend and called the meeting "surreal" in a Zoom interview with The Hollywood Reporter, published on 21 October 2026.

Navarrette posed for photos with the scare actor, holding a churro themed to One Wish Willow, the novelty item at the centre of the film. She also copied Nikki's frown from the party scene. Navarrette, who is 25, praised the performer for staying in character during their interaction and said she wanted to give the actor a high five.

Obsession came out in May 2026. Curry Barker wrote, directed and edited it. Navarrette plays Nikki, who is cursed after a co-worker uses a One Wish Willow item to make a wish about her. Michael Johnston plays that co-worker, Bear, a shy young man who wishes his crush would love him more than anyone else.

The film was made on a reported budget of $750,000. As of October 2026, it had grossed more than $522 million worldwide, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Navarrette's performance has also drawn early awards-season buzz.

The Nikki character has been part of the Halloween event for some time. In August, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Nikki would walk the streets of Universal Hollywood during the event. In September, Navarrette told Entertainment Tonight that she wanted to honour Nikki's experience. She said the event was protecting the character, which answered fans who see Nikki as a victim rather than a villain.

The same Hollywood Reporter story says the scare actor reportedly ended a character meet-and-greet early earlier in October. Guests had interrupted and harassed her, according to the report. Navarrette's friendly encounter came after that, and her praise for the performer's focus on the character reads as a direct contrast to those incidents.

For fans, the appeal is simple. The character who has been on screen since May now has a live version to meet, and the photos show how far the look has travelled from the film's party scene.
