Back to Black at 20: Roundhouse Tribute Closes With Every Artist Singing 'Valerie'

Every performer at a tribute to Amy Winehouse's 2006 album Back to Black came on stage together for the final song, "Valerie," according to Rolling Stone. The concert took place at the Roundhouse in Camden, north London, on Wednesday 21 October, marking the album's 20th anniversary.
"Valerie" was written by the Zutons, a Liverpool band, and became widely known through Winehouse's version. Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi curated the night. Both had worked with Winehouse on the album, which Ronson and Remi co-produced with her. Co-producers shape a recording in the studio alongside the artist.
The evening opened with Corinne Bailey Rae, who sang the title track, "Back to Black." Jessie Reyez closed the part of the show devoted to the album with "Rehab."
In between, a run of singers took their turn. Lianne La Havas performed "You Know I'm No Good," Yebba sang "Love Is a Losing Game," and Nia Smith took on "Tears Dry on Their Own." Sasha Keable performed "Just Friends," and Terri Walker sang "Me and Mr. Jones." Jorja Smith also appeared, and Ronson performed himself.
The music was played by the Amy Winehouse Band, led by bassist and musical director Dale Davis. Remi backed the performances, which gave the songs the same production team that first shaped them.
The concert will be broadcast in full on the BBC, Rolling Stone reports.
For the crew who set up the Roundhouse stage, the night was one long load-in and a late load-out. Behind every name on the bill is a band, a sound engineer and a venue team. Each of them had a part in getting the songs from the page to the room.
