Infanta Sofia Wears Navy Slingbacks to Oviedo Concert

Infanta Sofia of Spain, the younger daughter of Queen Letizia and King Felipe, wore navy slingback heels to the 34th Princess of Asturias Awards Concert in Oviedo on Thursday 22 October, according to Hello! Magazine. A slingback is a shoe with an open back, held on the foot by a strap that runs around the heel.
The concert took place at the Auditorio Palacio de Congresos in Oviedo, the capital of the northern region of Asturias. King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia were all there on the eve of the 2026 awards. The evening marked the start of the week's events around the prize, which the Princess of Asturias Foundation runs each year.
The outfits drew the most attention in coverage of the night. Infanta Sofia wore a sleeveless royal blue dress by the label Miphai. Queen Letizia chose a caped blouse from the Elie Saab x H&M collection, a designer range made for the high-street chain, with Sybilla trousers. Princess Leonor wore an all-black ensemble. Leonor is honorary president of the foundation.
The main ceremony follows on Friday 23 October at the Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo. The royal family will attend, and the Princess of Asturias will present the awards, according to Casa Real. On Saturday, the royals will travel to Llanes, a coastal town in Asturias, for the presentation of the Exemplary Village of Asturias 2026 Award.
Sofia is in her second year at Forward College. She studied her first year in Lisbon, moved to Paris for her second, and is due to study in Berlin next year. Leonor started her studies at Carlos III University of Madrid after completing three years of military training. She turns 21 on 31 October.
The event itself is a set piece of the Spanish royal calendar, with the awards, audiences and village visit following in quick succession.
