Fuerza Regida Receives Billboard Vanguard Award in Miami

The regional Mexican group Fuerza Regida received the Billboard Vanguard Award at the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards, held on 22 October at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. The honour was presented by Clave Especial and Los Gemelos de Sinaloa, and Billboard said it recognised the group's rapid rise in music.
Regional Mexican is a genre rooted in traditional Mexican folk music, and it has grown into one of the most-streamed styles in the Spanish-speaking music business. The group was formed in 2015. On the night, it was a finalist for 12 awards, including Artist of the Year and Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year.
The ceremony was broadcast live on Telemundo and Peacock, and the group performed "Pues Ya Ni Pedo" with Chuyin during the show.
The numbers behind the award are large. The group's ninth studio album, 111XPANTIA, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the weekly US album chart that counts sales, streams and track downloads. Billboard says it is the highest-charting Spanish-language album by a duo or group in the chart's history.
Fuerza Regida has 16 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, the main US singles chart. It also has more than 46 million monthly listeners on Spotify, meaning unique listeners who played its music in the previous month.
The group has also reached stages beyond the Latin charts. It became the first regional Mexican group to perform at Camp Flog Gnaw, the festival hosted by the rapper Tyler, the Creator.
Awards nights are often remembered for the trophies, but a show of this size also means a long working day for stagehands, sound engineers and production crews, many of whom spend hours on setup, rehearsal and teardown before the broadcast begins. Those roles rarely appear in the coverage, and they are part of how a night like this reaches an audience at home.
For fans, the headline is simple. A group formed in 2015 has been honoured by Billboard, its album reached No. 2 on the chart that tracks the whole US market, and its music is now part of a live national broadcast.
