At Least Seven Killed as Gunmen Open Fire Inside a Jordanian Church

At least seven people were killed on Friday when two gunmen opened fire inside a church in Karak governorate, in southern Jordan, where a funeral was taking place.
The BBC reported that ten people were injured in the attack. Jordanian state television gave the same minimum death toll of seven, according to Times of Israel.
Two gunmen who have not been identified arrived by car, entered the church and shot inside it, the BBC reported. They then fled the scene.
Security forces were deployed after the shooting, Jordanian government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani said. Karak governorate is one of the administrative regions of southern Jordan, a country that borders Israel, the West Bank, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
Dozens of people were attending the service when the shots were fired, and the wounded were taken to hospital. Authorities have not released a list of the dead.
