Ali G Returns to Cinemas With New Trailer and Boycott Calls

Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G is back on the big screen, and Amazon MGM has released a trailer for the film. Ali G: Who Iz I is due in cinemas from 23 October 2026, according to The Guardian, and it is Cohen's first Ali G film in almost 25 years.
Ali G's full name is Alistair Graham, Variety reported on 20 October. The character's girlfriend, Julie, is played by Morgana Robinson. Robinson is best known to British television viewers for playing Pippa Middleton in the comedy The Windsors.
The trailer shows Julie heavily pregnant. Ali G tells a doctor that her bump is "probably wind or a big poo." When asked what kind of father he wants to be, he answers "absent." The film's official synopsis describes Julie as eight months pregnant.
Robinson has said that Cohen asked her to stay in character when the cameras were off. She described working that way on the set, and the detail has drawn attention alongside the film's marketing.
The film has also faced criticism. Variety reports that it has been accused of using outdated racist stereotypes and mocking the working class. Calls have been made in the UK for cinemas to boycott the film.
Ali G first appeared on British television in the late 1990s. His big-screen debut, Ali G Indahouse, came out in 2002. The new film's release date and trailer put it back in front of audiences in the weeks before its cinema run begins.
