Sacha Baron Cohen's new film, 'Ali G: Who Iz I?', arrives on Prime Video on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, after a brief stop in cinemas. Amazon MGM Studios set the film's cinema run for two days, starting Friday, October 23.

The film marks Cohen's first time directing a feature, and he also stars in it. He plays Ali G, the character who first appeared in the U.K. in 'Da Ali G Show', which debuted in 2000 and later aired on HBO. Ali G first reached the big screen in 2002 with 'Ali G Indahouse', directed by Mark Mylod.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the new story follows Ali G after he learns that his girlfriend, played by Morgana Robinson, is eight months pregnant. He travels to America to get ready for the baby's arrival.

The film has a cinema run in a handful of countries, according to Amazon MGM Studios. Those are Australia, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands and New Zealand. Amazon MGM has not reported box-office grosses for the weekend release, so no earnings figures are available yet.

The streaming date is the main calendar move here. Amazon MGM's press release confirms the Prime Video date as October 28. A short cinema window before a streaming launch is a path more films now take, and the studio is using it for this title.

The film carries an R rating. The Amazon listing gives the reasons as crude and sexual content, graphic nudity, language and drug use. In the United States, an R rating means viewers under 17 need an accompanying adult.

Those who want to watch at home will be able to do so from Wednesday, once the film is on Prime Video. Prime Video is part of Amazon, which owns Amazon MGM Studios.
