Kat the Label Opens Its First New York Store in SoHo

Kat the Label, an Australian-based lingerie and bridal brand, has opened its first store in New York City. The shop at 242 Lafayette Street in SoHo, the Manhattan neighbourhood known for its cast-iron buildings and independent boutiques, opened its doors to the public on October 23, 2026, according to WWD.
The brand was founded by Kate Nixon in 2015. It describes itself on its website as a female-led business. Lingerie is underwear and sleepwear, and bridal covers the clothing and fittings for a wedding. Kat the Label sells both, and its first permanent store in the United States is the SoHo shop, which WWD describes as the brand's first retail expansion in the country.
The New York store measures 1,076 square feet, or about 100 square metres, according to WWD. Its main draw for brides is a private bridal suite. Customers can book private styling sessions in that room starting November 1.
The brand's home base is its Melbourne flagship at 1096 High Street in Armadale, Victoria. That store offers bra fitting appointments and private bridal suite bookings, according to the brand's website. Bookings there are also open on Mondays to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with weekday hours from 10:00am to 5:30pm.
Kat the Label is also sold through other retailers. WWD lists Revolve, Anthropologie, Free People, Shopbop, Urban Outfitters and Nordstrom among its retail partners. Those partnerships mean the products are sold in shops run by other companies, not only in the brand's own stores.
The New York store is open on Mondays from 11:00am to 7:00pm and on Sundays from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, the brand's website says. Customers can reach the store by phone at 201-371-3021. The website lists the same address and phone number for the bridal booking pages.
For a brand that began in Australia a decade ago, the move to Lower Manhattan is a step into a new market. Customers in New York will be able to try on the range in person, and book a bridal session, without travelling to Melbourne.
