Prince Michael of Kent makes rare public appearance at Woodcote Park with walking stick

Prince Michael of Kent made a rare public appearance on Friday at Woodcote Park, the headquarters of the Royal Automobile Club. He used a walking stick during the visit, Hello! magazine reported.
Prince Michael is 84. He is the younger brother of the Duke of Kent, and he stepped back from being a working royal, meaning a family member who carries out official engagements for the monarchy, in 2022. He has been president of the Royal Automobile Club, the motoring organisation that runs Woodcote Park, since 1979.
During the visit he toured newly built facilities at the site. He also looked at several antique cars, a reflection of the club's long links with motoring history.
His recent outings have included two events in September. At the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace, a show of classic and historic cars, he was pictured in a wheelchair. At the end of the month he joined relatives at a concert at Sinfonia Smith Square in London. The concert paid tribute to the Duchess of Kent, who died in September 2025, and it was organised by her charity, Future Talent. He used a walking aid and was supported as he entered the venue.
Cars have run through his public life for some time. In 2015 he presented Sir Lewis Hamilton, the Formula One driver, with his trophy at the Silverstone motor racing circuit. His role at the Royal Automobile Club has kept him close to the sport and the car world ever since.
The club's visit and the concert were both public occasions, and the household has not issued a separate statement about his health. Those who follow his engagements will be watching his next appearance, whenever it comes.
