Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 at Portman Road, and both goals came in the first half.

Neco Williams put Forest ahead with a low finish. The chance came from a cross by Daniel Muñoz that floated high and dropped into the box, a looping ball that is hard for defenders to judge. Williams kept his shot down and it found the corner of the net.

Ipswich replied through Julio Enciso, the Paraguay midfielder who joined the club from French side Strasbourg in August on a five-year contract, according to Reuters. His equaliser meant the home crowd had something to cheer before the break.

Gary O'Neil managed Ipswich. Oliver Glasner was in charge of Forest. Thomas Bramall was the referee. Forest brought back Morgan Gibbs-White, who had missed their previous match against Arsenal.

The result matters most to Forest. Before this game they had taken five points from seven matches, with only one win. A point away from home is useful for a side that has been stopping and starting, though it leaves them still searching for a run of results. For Ipswich, the draw gives them a point at home after a stretch that has included some close, hard-fought games.

The Guardian's match report and its live blog covered the game minute by minute. Both clubs will look at the first half for what worked. Ipswich will want to tighten up the moments that let Forest in, while Forest will want to turn their attacking start into a firmer grip on the match.

Neither side had much of the second half to settle the contest, and the score stayed level. Sometimes a 1-1 draw is simply a fair reflection of two teams who each found the net once.
