Ric Flair, the 77-year-old former professional wrestler, is recovering at a Florida hospital after falling outside a Tampa restaurant on Friday, 23 October.

Hours earlier, he had announced that he has a blood clot in his leg. The clot forced him to cancel an appearance at Washington State Horror Con in Seattle. A blood clot is a lump of blood that forms inside a blood vessel and can slow the flow of blood through the body. KARE 11 carried his announcement.

The fall came after 3 p.m. Eastern time, according to TMZ, which first reported it. The outlet published photos showing Flair on the ground with medical workers around him, and then being lifted into an ambulance. He was taken to a Tampa hospital.

Flair's doctors have limited his travel to three to four hours because of the clot, according to Deadline. He is scheduled to have a procedure on the affected vein, which would allow him to travel again. He is recovering in hospital.

His daughter, Charlotte Flair, also a wrestler, posted on X that her father is going to be OK after the fall.

For fans, the immediate change is simple. The Seattle appearance is off, and Flair's schedule for the near future depends on how the vein procedure goes and how long his doctors keep the travel limit in place.
