Klugman, 17, to face Jacquemot in Wrexham Open singles final

Hannah Klugman, 17, will play France's Elsa Jacquemot in Sunday's singles final at the Lexus Wrexham Open, BBC Sport reports.
Klugman reached the final with a 6-1 6-4 win over Jodie Burrage in the semi-finals. She had already beaten sixth seed Rebecca Sramkova to get that far. Seeding means ranking players and placing the strongest of them in the draw so that the best names do not meet early. Sramkova's sixth-seed place made her one of the higher-ranked players left in the field when Klugman beat her.
Jacquemot needed a tiebreak to get through. She beat Suzan Lamens 6-2 7-6 in the other semi-final. A tiebreak is a short, sudden game played when a set reaches six games all, and it decides the set. Jacquemot had earlier beaten Alicia Dudeney in the quarter-finals.
Klugman's run was not limited to singles. She and Daniella Britton lost 7-6 6-4 to Freya Christie and Eden Silva in the doubles semi-final. Christie and Silva now face Hiroko Kuwata and Ankita Raina in the doubles final. Kuwata and Raina are the fourth seeds in the event.
The Wrexham tournament is held at the Wrexham Tennis and Padel Centre. It is a W100 event on the ITF World Tennis Tour, the professional circuit that sits below the WTA Tour, the top tour for women. Players collect ranking points at events like this, and those points help decide who gets into bigger tournaments.
Klugman's place in the final is a first big step at this level for a player of her age. Her semi-final scoreline shows how she closed out the match: she won the first set 6-1 and held on in the second. The final will test whether that control holds against a player who has already been pushed to a tiebreak this week.
The singles final is on Sunday, the last day of the tournament.
