Nobody Wants This creator Erin Foster says she has "more story to tell" if Netflix renews the romantic comedy for a fourth season. Deadline reported her comments on October 25, 2026.

The decision is still open. A renewal is a streamer's choice to order another season, and a show waiting on that choice is said to be "on the bubble," meaning its future is undecided. As of October 24, Netflix had not renewed Nobody Wants This for Season 4. The third season has already been released.

Foster said she tries not to "get too attached to the outcome." She described herself as flexible about letting the audience shape where the show goes. She also said she never wants the series to run longer than people want to watch it, and that she would rather viewers want more than want less.

The show draws on Foster's own life. It is inspired by her relationship with her husband, music executive Simon Tikhman. Foster married at 37, later than many people in their twenties, and she has said that the timing became material for the story.

Kristen Bell plays Joanne Williams, an agnostic podcaster who falls for a rabbi. Adam Brody plays Rabbi Noah Roklov. Foster appears on screen too, playing a character named Nicole. Netflix's Tudum site describes Nicole as a chaotically messy fan.

Foster has also responded to criticism of the show's Jewish characters. She spoke about that in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published in August.

Behind every season sits a writers' room and a production crew. A renewal decides whether those teams keep working on the show. Until Netflix says more, the fourth season remains unconfirmed, and nobody can say yet whether it will be ordered.
