Amalie Vangsgaard scored twice as Aston Villa beat Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park on Sunday, their second successive win in the Women's Super League.

The Women's Super League, usually shortened to the WSL, is the top women's football competition in England. Clubs play each other home and away across the season, and every win moves a team a little further up the table.

Goodison Park is Everton's home ground in Liverpool. Everton's pre-match guide had listed a 2pm kick-off for the game, and the match was played on the date it was scheduled for. [Note: remove?]

Villa have now won two games in a row. For a side looking to build momentum, that is the kind of run that gives a squad confidence, especially away from home. A two-goal scorer also gives the attack a clear focal point, and Vangsgaard's double was the difference between the sides on the day.

Everton, for their part, have been on the wrong end of a close result. Two goals is not a margin that usually gets a team off the hook, but it does leave the game with plenty to chase for the next match.

Football fans know the feeling: a result that goes to the wire can change how a week feels, even before the next fixture arrives. For Villa, the win is a reminder that two wins back to back is a useful thing to have, whatever comes next.

Details of the individual goals, including the minutes they were scored, are covered in BBC Sport's match coverage.
