Yash Raj Films Names Ali Abbas Zafar's Romance 'Beparwah' and Sets March 2027 Release
Yash Raj Films has revealed the title of its next romantic action-drama, and it has a date to go with it. The film is called Beparwah, and it is set to open in cinemas worldwide on March 26, 2027, according to Variety.
The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and stars Ahaan Panday and Sharvari. It is the first time the two actors have shared the screen. Panday made his screen debut in Mohit Suri's Saiyaara opposite Aneet Padda, a film that grossed more than $65 million worldwide. Sharvari previously starred opposite Alia Bhatt in Alpha, the first female-led entry in Yash Raj's spy universe.
Aditya Chopra produces the film and co-wrote the script with Zafar. It marks the fifth time the two have worked together. Their earlier films are Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), Gunday (2014), Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).
The cast also includes Bobby Deol. Aaishvary Thackeray plays the antagonist. He is the grandson of Bal Thackeray, the founder of the Shiv Sena party.
The release date has a clear logic. March 26, 2027 falls on Good Friday, a public holiday in many countries, when families often go out to the cinema. Yash Raj first set the date in July, while the production was shooting in the United Kingdom, where much of the film was made. The title reveal came exactly five months before that date.
Why the date matters: a fixed release date gives cinemas, distributors and advertisers a target to plan around. Studios often lock dates early and then reshuffle them as other films arrive. The date printed on the calendar is a commitment, not a guarantee, and this one could still move.
