Jordan Arrests Three Suspects Over Deadly Attack on Karak Church

Jordanian security forces have arrested three people over an attack on a Greek Orthodox church in Karak governorate, in southern Jordan, that killed nine people and injured 25, Arab News reported.
The attack took place on Friday at the Greek Orthodox church in Hmoud village, during a funeral. Three gunmen opened fire, and security forces began a search for them. The three perpetrators were arrested at dawn on Monday, according to Petra, Jordan's official news agency. Petra said the arrests ended an intensive, non-stop search operation carried out by joint security teams.
Reports say the suspects were armed. Al Jazeera described them as armed at the time of their arrest.
Survivors have described the assault. One man told Reuters that an assailant had pointed a handgun at him.
Earlier, Reuters reported that King Abdullah ordered security forces to respond to the attack with an "iron fist," a phrase meaning a firm, forceful response.
