Readers pick 19 architecture winners in Dezeen Awards 2026 public vote

Readers of the architecture and design website Dezeen have chosen 19 winners in the architecture public vote for the Dezeen Awards 2026. Dezeen published the results on 26 October 2026.
Anyone could vote. Dezeen invited readers to pick favourites from a shortlist of 392 projects, which span 49 categories across architecture, interiors and design. Voting ran from 28 September to 16 October. The public vote is separate from the main awards, where industry judges make their own decisions.
Two projects in Spain and Portugal took the house categories. House 144º in Barcelona, by Jaime Prous Architects and Pineda & Monedero, won House (urban) of the year 2026. Casa Plaj in Lourinhã, Portugal, by Extrastudio, won House (rural) of the year 2026. In the housing category, La Querola in Ordino, Andorra, by Ribas & Ribas Arquitectos, took the top public vote.
Some names came out ahead of the rest. Tehran-based ZAV Architects won twice, with two different projects. The French studio Collectif Encore also won two categories with its conversion of a former industrial warehouse into open civic infrastructure, meaning buildings and spaces that the public can use. Projects by Blight Rayner Architecture, Foster + Partners and Schemata Architects were also voted readers' favourites.
Michelmersh and Sanderson sponsored the architecture categories. The awards are held in partnership with Trimble.
The voting is not the end of the season. Dezeen said the interiors public vote winners would be published on 27 October, the day after the architecture results, with design winners to follow on Wednesday, 28 October. The overall winners of the Dezeen Awards 2026 will be announced at an awards party on 16 November at the Royal Opera House in London.
