Dezeen names 152 projects for 2026 architecture shortlist
152 projects by studios in 36 countries have made the architecture shortlist for the Dezeen Awards 2026.
Dezeen, the online magazine that organises the awards, published the list on 21 September. The shortlist covers 19 architecture project categories, with each category for a different building type or use Dezeen.
The spread is wide. Studios on the list are based everywhere from China and Thailand to Finland, Kuwait, Portugal and Uruguay.
Familiar practices are in the mix. The shortlist includes buildings by Dorte Mandrup, Farshid Moussavi Architects and Herzog & de Meuron, alongside many smaller studios.
The entries were scored by a jury that includes architects Annabelle Selldorf, Daniel Libeskind, Ma Yansong, Amanda Levete and Norman Foster. Juries in awards of this kind read submissions, review images and plans, and vote to decide a shortlist.
What happens next is live. Winners in each of the 19 architecture categories will be announced at the Dezeen Awards 2026 party on 16 November at the Royal Opera House in London. Those 19 winners will then go head to head for the overall title of architecture project of the year.
For context, Dezeen Awards 2026 runs across 49 categories for architecture, interiors and design. Architecture and interiors projects were only eligible if completed between 1 June 2024 and 31 May 2026. This year's awards are held in partnership with Trimble.
