Juno Temple, Joey King and James McAvoy are set to star in Almost You, a science-fiction comedy about artificial intelligence, Variety reported on 26 October 2026.

The story follows Phoebe, a robotics engineer. After the death of her younger sister Edie, Phoebe builds a lifelike AI copy of her using old messages, videos and social media posts. The idea sits somewhere between a love letter and a warning, and the film's comedy comes from the awkward results.

Matt Lipsey is directing. The film is already in production and shooting in Glasgow, in Scotland.

On the business side, Bankside Films has acquired Almost You for worldwide sales. A sales company, sometimes called a sales agent, takes a finished or nearly finished film and sells the rights to cinemas, streaming services and broadcasters in different countries. Bankside is taking on that job across the world.

For the United Kingdom and North America, Bankside is working alongside UTA Independent Film Group, the film arm of the talent agency UTA. Co-representing a film means the two companies share the work of finding buyers in those markets. No buyers or deal terms were named.

Casting is often announced early in a film's life for a practical reason. A well-known cast list can help a sales company talk to buyers before a film is complete, and buyers often decide what to purchase long before audiences see a trailer. That is general industry practice, not a statement about how this film's deals are going.

No release date or distributor for Almost You has been reported so far. For now, the news is simple: three well-known actors, a director at work in Scotland, and a sales company ready to take the film to buyers around the world.
