Owen Thiele is the face of a new ad campaign for Tinder's Group Hangouts, a feature that lets groups of friends meet other groups. Variety reported the campaign on 26 October 2026.

In the spot, Thiele takes on the manner of Sir David Attenborough, the British broadcaster known for nature documentaries. He observes and narrates Gen Z dating "in the wild", as if the young singles were animals on screen. The ad was directed by twin sisters Fa and Fon Watkins.

Thiele also talked about his own dating history. He is in a relationship with celebrity stylist Jared Ellner, and the couple have been together for 10 years. Months into dating, the two took part in a Tinder photo shoot in which their faces were cut out, leaving only their interlocked hands visible.

Thiele is best known to many viewers as Anton on FX's series Adults. In Season 2, Anton and Paul Baker share a kiss at the end of the season. Ben Kronengold is a co-creator of the show. When Thiele spoke to Variety, a third season had not been given the go-ahead, a decision that networks usually make after reviewing how a season performed.

Thiele's acting schedule is also growing. He has been cast in the sequel to the 2004 film 13 Going on 30. He also hosts a podcast called In Your Dreams.

For the app, the campaign puts a feature that is about groups front and centre. Tinder's help centre says Group Hangouts is available on all platforms. The company has not, in the material cited here, shared figures on how many people have used the feature.

For fans of Adults, the immediate question is the same as it was before the ad. Nothing has been announced for a third season, and the next update will come from FX or the show's makers.
