Chris LaMartina Announces New Year's Eve Film Spirit Tasting, Shot in Four Days

Chris LaMartina, creator of the WNUF Halloween Special, has announced a new film set on New Year's Eve. Variety reported that the film, Spirit Tasting, was shot in four days for $40,000 and made to celebrate LaMartina's 40th birthday.
The film comes from Terror Vision Original Productions. LaMartina directed and edited it, and he co-wrote it with Michael Varrati. Varrati is also one of the producers, alongside Melissa LaMartina and Ted Geoghegan. Ryan Graveface is the executive producer.
Sean Doherty, Melissa LaMartina and Trevor Wilhelms play three former punks. Matt Lake plays a strange sommelier. Matt Baughman, Cate Paris and Tatiana Nya Ford also star. The cast list includes cameos from Grady Hendrix, Clay McLeod Chapman, Peaches Christ and Henry Zebrowski.
The film will not arrive on one set date. It will screen in a holiday roadshow, a touring run of live screenings at a series of venues. The stops are still to be announced, and the run is expected to cover November to early January. LaMartina and select cast members will appear at each stop.
A Blu-ray release will follow the roadshow, so home viewers can buy the film once the live dates end.
For fans of the WNUF Halloween Special, the announcement gives them a new LaMartina project to follow through the winter. The roadshow format also means that the film's audiences will meet its makers in person, town by town, before any disc arrives.
