BondIt, Buffalo 8 and Sandaled Kid plan three horror films for 2027

BondIt Media Capital, Buffalo 8 Distribution and Sandaled Kid Productions are teaming up to develop three horror films aimed for release in 2027, Variety reported on 13 October 2026.
A slate, in industry terms, is a small group of films planned together. This one is described as commercial and high-concept, meaning each film is built around a simple, striking idea that can be explained in a sentence.
The jobs are split three ways. BondIt Media Capital will finance the three films, Buffalo 8 will release them, and Sandaled Kid Productions will focus on development and production, according to Variety.
The deal was put together by two principals. James Cullen Bressack is the founder of Sandaled Kid Productions, and Matthew Helderman is chief executive and co-founder of BondIt and Buffalo 8. Both men negotiated the partnership and will serve as executive producers on all three films, a role that usually involves overseeing finance or creative direction rather than day-to-day shooting.
No titles have been revealed. The film-makers attached and the production schedules have also yet to be announced.
The three companies each bring a different history. Buffalo 8 was founded by Helderman in 2010 as an independent media studio working across production, post-production and distribution, while BondIt launched in 2013 as a financing organisation. Sandaled Kid launched in 2020 to specialise in micro- and mid-budget genre pictures, meaning lower-cost films made for defined audiences, particularly in action and horror.
Bressack's past credits include Darkness of Man, Hot Seat and Fortress. Buffalo 8, based in Santa Monica, works across development, production, post-production, distribution and music, and has had films premiere at Sundance, SXSW and Berlin.
For fans, this means waiting a little longer for names and dates. The commitment for now is number and timing: three horror features, with 2027 as the target for getting them to audiences.
