Alan Dysert, Actor Who Played Sean Cudahy on All My Children, Dies at 75

Alan Dysert, the actor best known for playing Sean Cudahy on the daytime soap opera All My Children, has died at the age of 75. He died on October 23, 2026, according to Deadline.
His wife, Michele Dysert, shared the news in a Facebook post on Sunday, October 25.
Dysert appeared as Sean Cudahy in 79 episodes of All My Children between 1980 and 1990. A soap opera is a television drama that airs during the day and follows its characters over years, often with no final episode in sight. His screen work also included a role in the comedy film Cheech and Chong's Next Movie.
Dysert wrote about his health in public. In his 2023 autobiography, Lights, Camera, Cancer!, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with a rare, aggressive and incurable cancer. An autobiography is a book in which a person tells the story of their own life.
The book's synopsis describes what that fight involved. Dysert had four major cancer-related surgeries, one recurrence of the disease, and many rounds of chemotherapy, the drug treatment that attacks cancer cells. He also had 29 CT scans, detailed X-ray images that doctors use to check how a disease is progressing.
Fans who followed Sean Cudahy's storylines will know the role from the show's long run on television. The book, written after his diagnosis, gave readers a view of the treatment behind the public career.
Dysert's family has not, in the material published so far, announced funeral or memorial arrangements.
