Supernatural thriller The Block finishes filming

The horror film The Block has wrapped production, Deadline reported on 26 October 2026. The film is now in post-production, the stage where editing, sound and visual effects are completed. It does not yet have a premiere date.

Craig Singer directed and produced the film, and he is an Emmy nominee. Jack Falahee stars as Mitch James, a writer. The ensemble also includes Jackie Earle Haley, Chris Noth, Saphira Moran, Thomas G. Waites, Catherine Cocoran, Carrie Jo Crosby, Armen Garo, Michael Rodrick and Elias Koteas.

Moran plays a fan who becomes a girlfriend, and whose obsession turns deadly. The story is a supernatural thriller, a genre that mixes scares with an otherworldly element.

The casting first took shape in public in May 2025, when Deadline reported that Falahee, Haley and Noth would star opposite Moran. Later that year, Fangoria published an exclusive first-look clip from the film, and Rue Morgue revealed its poster. Both were early glimpses of a project that had been moving quietly through development.

The Block is also a reunion. Singer worked again with horror writer Robert Dean Klein, and Rue Morgue described it as the fifth collaboration between the two. They previously worked together on 6:45.

The film is a co-production between two companies. Cascrator Films is based in the United States, and Three777 Films is based in Australia. Co-productions like this one let companies in different countries share the work of making a film, and often its costs.

For fans of the genre, the news is simple. The cameras have stopped, and the film now moves into the editing room. A release date will be the next thing to watch for.
