Meghan Markle Reported Set for Junior MasterChef Australia Role

Meghan Markle is reported to be heading back to Australia to take a leading role on Junior MasterChef Australia, the children's version of the cooking competition made by Network 10. The news came in reports published on 26 October 2026.

Hello Magazine says she is set to judge the show alongside MasterChef judge Poh Ling Yeow, who finished second in the first Australian MasterChef series in 2009. The Daily Telegraph says the Duchess of Sussex will present the next season. The Daily Mirror and The Chronicle describe her as a co-host of the series.

The show is a revival. Junior MasterChef Australia went off air in 2020 after three seasons, so a new run would bring it back after a gap of several years.

Meghan's link to the adult series is already on record. She appeared as a special guest on the 18th season of MasterChef Australia, in an episode aired on 26 July 2026. Network 10's website lists it as Season 18, Episode 56. Earlier, in April 2026, she had filmed for the show during a visit to Australia with Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex. Harry then joined in by video call as a surprise during her appearance.

Hello Magazine also reports that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet may travel with her. The magazine says the children are believed to attend schools near the family home in Montecito, California. The Daily Mirror reports that Harry could also join the trip. No decision has been made about whether Archie and Lilibet will go, according to Hello Magazine.

Filming is expected in Melbourne over several weeks in the first half of 2027, Hello Magazine reports.

For viewers, the appeal is easy to see. Junior MasterChef puts young cooks in the kitchen, and the adult series has used guest appearances before. Whether this revival follows the same format will become clear once the show is announced in full.
