Jay-Z will headline the halftime show at Super Bowl LXI, the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced on October 27, 2026. The game is set for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the same venue where Jay-Z closed his Jay-Z 30 concert tour.

Halftime is the stage show that fills the break between the second and third quarters. It is often the part of the Super Bowl that reaches people who never watch a single down of football. The Guardian reported the news.

Roc Nation, the entertainment company Jay-Z founded in 2008 after co-founding Roc-A-Fella Records, has partnered with the NFL since 2019. The company advises on and helps produce the league's entertainment, including the Super Bowl halftime show. The first halftime show under that partnership was Shakira and Jennifer Lopez at Super Bowl LIV in 2020.

Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, has won 25 Grammy Awards from 89 nominations. In 2017 he became the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.

His most recent solo album, 4:44, came out in 2017. His last collaborative album was released with Beyoncé in 2018 as the Carters.

For football fans, the news means the halftime lineup for next February is now set at the top. The game itself is still more than three months away, and the rest of the broadcast, from the pregame to the final whistle, will carry the usual months of planning. For everyone else, the headliner is the name most likely to get them to the TV at halftime.
