U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes has temporarily blocked the Trump administration from making further alterations to East Potomac Park in Washington, according to NPR.

The order is a preliminary injunction, a temporary court order that holds an action in place while a lawsuit continues. It bars the government from cutting down, substantially pruning, damaging or impairing any trees at the park without a court order. It also requires the government to give at least ten business days' written notice before closing any part of the park or making any change that cannot be reversed.

The D.C. Preservation League and two local golfers sued earlier this year to prevent renovations at the park. The government had previously cut down 430 trees on the East Potomac golf course with less than a day's notice, according to NPR.

President Trump said the Department of the Interior will appeal the ruling. He also said construction on the park will begin on Nov. 15 and keep the park closed for 15 months.

A federal judge also extended the block on the administration's renovation plans for the East Potomac Golf Links, according to ABC News.

Earlier this month, a federal judge said the Justice Department had "lost all credibility" over the removal of trees at the D.C. golf course, according to Reuters.
