Fox has renewed Nation's Dumbest for a second season, Deadline reported on 27 October 2026. A renewal means the network has agreed to order more episodes of a show after its first run, so the series will return for another round.

The first season started on 15 July. In its first seven days, the show drew 2.3 million total viewers, according to Nielsen, the company that measures US television audiences. Those figures count people who watched on television and on other platforms within that week. Fox called the launch its biggest summer debut in four years, Deadline noted.

The show is hosted by Jack Whitehall, the British comedian. Season 1 also featured Hilaria Baldwin, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Steve-O and JoJo Siwa. BBC Studios produces the series.

The programme is based on a Norwegian format, meaning a television concept that has been sold to broadcasters in other countries and adapted for local audiences. Formats like this travel between markets, and the same basic idea can run in dozens of countries with different hosts and casts. That is one reason producers and networks look closely at how a format performs in its first run.

For the people behind the show, a renewal means the production team, the crew and the cast can plan the next season. Television crews are often hired season by season, so a renewal keeps those jobs on the calendar.

Renewals are often announced in the autumn, when networks decide which shows to keep for the following year. Season 2 is now confirmed, and the next update will be the premiere date and the number of episodes, once Fox announces them.
