BMG has signed Australian five-piece Parcels to its music publishing roster, the company announced on 28 October 2026. Under the agreement, BMG will represent the band on a global basis.

The deal was signed at BMG's European headquarters in Berlin, according to Billboard. BMG's own news page carries a matching announcement, headlined “Parcels Sign Global Publishing Agreement with BMG,” dated 28 October 2026.

A music publisher looks after the songs themselves, the written compositions, rather than the recordings of them. Each time a song is played on the radio, streamed, used in a film or performed live, royalties are paid to the writers and to the publisher who handles the song's rights. That is the work a publishing company does: it collects those payments, licenses the songs for use and pitches them for placements.

The word “global” matters here. It means BMG's role is not limited to one country. Songs written by the band can be handled through BMG's offices across its international network, wherever they are used.

Publishing deals are often less visible than record deals, even though they run alongside a band's career. For the musicians, the agreement puts the business side of their songwriting in one company's hands for the term of the contract. For listeners, nothing changes on the playlist: the deal is about who manages the songs behind the music, not about new releases.

BMG is a music company with its European headquarters in Berlin, and it has been adding songwriters and artists to its roster across several markets. This announcement adds Parcels to that list, and the signing is the latest step in a relationship that now begins on paper.
