Mamma Mia! The Party, the restaurant show created by ABBA's Björn Ulvaeus, will have its Australian premiere in March 2027 at the Sydney Event Centre at The Star. Billboard reported the announcement on 28 October 2026.

The show is set in a restaurant recreated to look like a taverna, the small, family-run eateries common in Greece, on the island of Skopelos. The official London page names four characters, Nikos, Kate, Adam and Konstantina, who are working through family life inside the taverna.

Sydney is the third city to host the production, after Stockholm and London. The official website lists Manchester as coming soon. Across its productions so far, the show has staged more than 1,500 performances and welcomed 700,000 diners.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, 12 November 2026, according to Dance Australia, which reported the Sydney plans the day before the announcement was published. Anyone planning a trip has a clear run-up: buying opens in mid-November, and the first performances follow in March.

The production is executive produced by Björn Ulvaeus and Pophouse Entertainment, with TEG Dainty handling the Australian side. An executive producer oversees the business and creative shape of a show, including its money and its partners. Paul Dainty is president and CEO of TEG Dainty.

For the people who will staff the restaurant, from kitchen to front of house, the Sydney dates mean a new season of work to plan around. For the audience, it means a new city to add to the list of places where the taverna has opened its doors.
