No Man's Sky has launched on iPhone and iPad, and Hello Games has released its Forsaken update for all players. Eurogamer reported the launch on 28 October 2026. The studio first announced the iOS version on 12 October 2026, in a post on the official No Man's Sky site.

No Man's Sky is a space exploration game, where players travel between planets and explore a procedurally generated universe. The mobile version needs an iPhone 11 or newer, or a 3rd generation iPad Air or newer. It uses custom touch controls, includes all more than 40 updates released before Forsaken, and has a download size of 4GB. Players can try the first part of the game for free.

IGN reported that the iOS version is promoted for its battery life and thermal performance, meaning how well a phone handles heat during long sessions. The studio says the full universe is available to explore on iOS.

The Forsaken update brings several new features to the game:

  • Postal missions. Players become a delivery driver and carry packages across the galaxy.
  • Seamless warping. Players lock onto the brightest star in view and travel straight there, skipping the galactic map.
  • Radial weapon menu. A circular pop-up menu now handles weapon selection.
  • Minimal HUD mode. HUD stands for heads-up display, the on-screen information players see while they play. The new mode strips it back.
  • Accessibility additions. Dozens of new options have been added to make the game easier to play.

The update also adds new ships and spaces. Biomechanical corvette modules, new cockpits and an interior set inspired by a distant galaxy are all part of it. Players can also pick up the larva tank helmet, a new spacesuit style, and the grub cannon, a new style for the multi-tool, the handheld device used for mining and combat.

The story thread is built around enigmatic traders who want strange samples, including haunted tech and biological horrors. Missions take players into derelict hulks, abandoned freighters and infested outposts.

Forsaken is available on Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, VR headsets and iPhone and iPad. The update reaches each platform through its own version of the game, so the same content appears across all of them.

For players who have been waiting to take the game on the go, the iPhone and iPad version is the first time the full game has been available on Apple's mobile devices.
