The Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse have announced their 2027 season, and it opens in April with Nick Payne's Constellations. The play runs at the Everyman from 17 April to 8 May, directed by Yusra Warsama.

The play follows Marianne and Roland as their relationship unfolds across several possible futures. It premiered in 2012 and won the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Play that year. WhatsOnStage reported the details of the 2027 line-up.

Three of the Everyman's spring and summer productions are grouped as the "Made in Liverpool" programme. They are Constellations, Daffodils and Medea. Booked together, the three cost £66. Single tickets for the productions range from £11 to £41.

Daffodils, by Sean McLoughlin, runs from 3 to 12 June. It is directed by Nathan Powell, the Everyman and Playhouse's Creative Director. The story follows an English teacher, James Stephens, who tries to reach a student, Demi Lyons, in his Year 10 GCSE class. McLoughlin is a graduate of Young Everyman Playhouse, the theatre's free creative training programme for young people.

Young Everyman Playhouse's 14 to 17-year-old cohort will present Abi Zakarian's Age is Revolting on 9 and 10 July. Recruitment for the Class of 2027 closes on Sunday 1 November 2026. An open day is being held on Wednesday 28 October, from 6pm to 7pm.

Chris Bush has adapted Euripides' Medea for the Everyman. Elin Schofield directs it, and it runs from 25 September to 16 October. In this version, Medea is a former pop star whose husband, Jason, is leaving her for a younger woman. Euripides wrote the original Greek tragedy about a woman who takes revenge on her husband, so the new version keeps that story at its core while changing the setting.

The Everyman's main stage also hosts Martin McDonagh's A Skull in Connemara, directed by Chris Sonnex. It runs from 20 February to 13 March 2027.

Across the road at the Playhouse, the 2027 programme includes The Signalman, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The King's Speech, Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger's Drift, Million Dollar Quartet, Remember Romeo, Oh Zeus!, Strangers on a Train and Savage. Savage is a new play about the comedian Lily Savage. The family list includes The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Pip & Posy, Zog and the Flying Doctors and Mog the Forgetful Cat. Mini Maestros music sessions for young children are listed for July 2027, at 10:15 and 11:15.

The Everyman's current production of Little Shop of Horrors runs from 3 December 2026 to 9 January 2027. Tickets are priced £17 to £62. The show lasts about two hours, including an interval, and is suitable for ages 12 and over.

The theatre is at 5-11 Hope Street, Liverpool. The new Everyman building opened in March 2014.
