Capcom's Onimusha: Way of the Sword has sold more than 1.7 million copies, the Japanese publisher said in its half-year financial report.

That report covers 1 April to 30 September 2026. Capcom says it recorded its highest-ever unit sales for the first half of any fiscal year, which is the company's own twelve-month accounting period. Unit sales count the copies of games sold. Revenue and profit both grew across nearly all of the company's business areas.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the first new game in the Onimusha series in 20 years. Capcom says it sold more than 1 million units on launch day. The company also says the whole Onimusha series has now passed 10 million units sold. The game also won two awards at the Gamescom awards 2026, according to Capcom.

Pragmata is a new franchise from Capcom, not a sequel to an existing series. It launched on 17 April 2026. In its first 16 days, it sold 2 million copies, according to Gadgets360. The latest figure, from Eurogamer, is 2.7 million copies sold.

Resident Evil Requiem has now sold more than 8.5 million copies, according to Capcom's half-year report as reported by Eurogamer. Capcom also says Monster Hunter: World is well past 30 million copies sold.

For a sense of scale, a single copy sale here is one buyer, whether that buyer bought the game at full price, on sale, or through a subscription service. Players who bought Onimusha, Pragmata or Resident Evil Requiem are part of a set of numbers that now puts the company's first half ahead of any earlier first half in its reporting history.

The company gives a fresh total for each title when it publishes its results, so the numbers are likely to change again in the next report.
