Dan Silbermann is leaving A+E Global Media, the company behind A&E and History, after 20 years. He is joining Sol as its head of marketing and communications, according to Variety, which reported the move on 28 October 2026.

At A+E, Silbermann was executive vice president of communications. He oversaw media relations (dealing with journalists), corporate and internal communications, and crisis management, which is how a company responds when something goes wrong in public. His remit also covered social media strategy and talent relations, meaning the people who appear on its programmes.

His areas of responsibility stretched across the A&E Network, the History Channel, A+E Factual Studios and A&E Indie Films. Factual Studios makes documentary and nonfiction programmes, and Indie Films backs independent movies.

Silbermann started his career at Rubenstein Communications in New York. He later joined Bravo Media, where he helped the channel become a pop culture destination. Its early hits included Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Project Runway. He has now spent more than 25 years in television.

At Sol, he will report to managing partner Kaan Aslansan. He will stay based in New York.

Sol describes its work as helping businesses put artificial intelligence into their everyday operations. It focuses on what it calls agentic AI systems, meaning software that can carry out a series of tasks with limited human input. It also works on workflow modernisation, which means rebuilding how work gets done, and on workforce transformation, which means preparing staff for those changes. Its stated fields include media, entertainment, adtech (advertising technology), state and local government, and education.

For the television business, the move takes a long-serving network communications chief into a firm whose listed sectors include media and entertainment. Silbermann's new role centres on Sol's own marketing and communications, which means telling the firm's story to clients, reporters and the wider market.

A+E has not been named as having a successor for his role, and no further details about his departure were given.
