Dead At 27 Wraps Production With Selma Blair Leading a Cast of Actors and Recording Artists

Production has wrapped on Dead At 27, a Gen Z music thriller, according to Deadline. "Wrapped" is the industry word for finishing the filming itself, so the cameras have stopped and the cast has finished its scenes.
Selma Blair stars alongside Sierra McCormick, Logan Miller and Dylan Playfair. The film also brings in recording artists Iann Dior, Tommy Genesis and Kya (Bludnymph) Hansen, who contribute both acting and music. Mixing performers from pop and music with screen actors is a choice that puts the soundtrack close to the centre of the story.
K. Asher Levin directs the film and wrote the script with Zack Imbrogno. Levin also produces, together with Ashleigh Snead, Henry Boger and Michael May. Executive producers include Blair, Iann Dior, Andile Ndlovu and Jasmine Pears. An executive producer is usually a credit for someone who helps secure money or oversee a project, rather than someone who runs the day-to-day work on set.
Music is a large part of the production. Levin and Theresa Wayman wrote a full original soundtrack for the film, meaning every song was written for it rather than licensed from existing catalogues. Cinematographer Andy Chen shot the picture, which is the job of deciding how each scene is lit and framed. Alex Rodriguez and Raul Toledo edited it, cutting the footage into its final order.
What comes after wrap is usually the longest stretch of a film's making. Editors shape the cut, composers and sound teams finish the music and sound mix, and visual effects and colour work are completed. Those stages are where a film's running time, pacing and final sound are set.
The production runs on a tight cast list of actors and musicians, a small core creative team, and a score built from original songs. Shooting is complete, and the work now moves into the edit suite and the studio.
