Russian drone attack on Dnipro railway station kills 13

A Russian drone attack on the main railway station in Dnipro, a city in central Ukraine, killed 13 people on October 29, 2026, according to Reuters.

The drone struck a crowded platform where people were boarding a waiting train, Reuters and Hindustan Times reported. Five people were injured, according to Hindustan Times.

A drone is a pilotless aircraft, flown remotely rather than by someone on board. Its use in attacks on civilian sites has become a recurring feature of the war between Ukraine and Russia, which has continued since Russia's full-scale invasion of its neighbour.

Dnipro is one of Ukraine's larger cities, and its railway station is a major point for travel across the country. Trains there are a routine means of moving people, including at times of heightened danger, which is why platforms are usually busy.

The attack leaves the station as the scene of one of the deadliest recent strikes on civilians in the city. Details of the attack's aftermath remain limited to the casualty and injury figures given here.
