Ben Fogle Shares Photo With Prince William, and Fans Spot a Likeness
Ben Fogle, the television presenter, has posted a smiling photo of himself beside Prince William on Instagram, and followers have been quick to remark on how alike the two men look. Hello! reported the post on 29 October 2026.
The picture dates from 2010. It was taken on a trip to Botswana to film Prince William's Africa, a television documentary about William's conservation work. Prince Harry was on the same trip. Fogle is a BAFTA-nominated presenter and a Sunday Times best-selling author.
Fogle told Hello that he was often mistaken for William when he was younger, especially while travelling. People would stop him, he said, and ask where his security was. He did not say how often it happened.
Followers picked up the theme in the comments. One wrote, "Crikey you two are the spit of one another!" Others called the pair "Twins" and described the resemblance as striking.
The comparison is not new. A 2009 Express article reported that William's friends had nicknamed him "Ben" after Fogle. The same piece said his mother, Princess Diana, called him "Willy Wombat."
Fogle has a looser connection to the royal family as well. He and his wife, Marina, attended the 2011 royal wedding of William and Catherine. Marina's sister, Olivia Hunt, briefly dated William while he was a student at St Andrews University, according to a 2021 report from MyLondon.
