A full trailer for the second season of Sweetpea is out, and the darkly comic thriller is heading back to screens in November in the UK. Deadline published the trailer alongside new images on 29 October 2026.

Ella Purnell returns as Rhiannon Lewis, the character at the centre of the show. The new season picks up after the Season 1 finale. Rhiannon has been given a promotion at the local newspaper, the Carnsham Gazette, but a copycat killer is threatening to expose her.

Taj Atwal plays Freya, Rhiannon's new boss at the paper. Jenny Walser joins the cast as Daisy, a new friend for Rhiannon. Rish Shah plays Gabriel, Rhiannon's romantic interest. Tamsin Greig plays Liv, the mother of AJ.

The returning cast includes Jon Pointing, Jeremy Swift, Leah Harvey, Ingrid Oliver, Nitin Ganatra and Alexandra Dowling. Selina Lim is the lead writer for the season.

The show is adapted from C.J. Skuse's novel of the same name. It is produced by See-Saw Films and fanboy in association with Sky Studios. Sky and Starz are the broadcasters. Sky describes the series as a darkly comic thriller, and it first launched in 2024.

Sky will release Season 2 in the UK in November 2026. Starz, the US platform, will bring the season to its service in early 2027. The two broadcasters have not announced a shared premiere date for the US and UK releases, so viewers in each market will wait on their own schedule.

Sky first showed a teaser for the season on 25 August 2026. A short Season 2 teaser also appeared on Starz's official YouTube channel that month. The full trailer is the first look at the season's story with the new cast members in place.

Why does a trailer matter this early? For viewers, it is the clearest guide to what the new season holds before it arrives. For the production, the trailer is also a signal that the release is close. Season 2 has a fixed autumn window in the UK, and the trailer is the next step in that run-up.

Anyone who wants to catch up can find the first season on the Sky and Starz platforms. Starz's official Sweetpea page lists full episodes and includes a trailer for the series.
