John Cho and Ethan Suplee Join Teen Horror Film 'Bad Influence'

John Cho and Ethan Suplee have joined the cast of Bad Influence, a young adult horror film that has recently finished shooting, according to Deadline, which reported the casting on 29 October 2026.

Young adult, or YA, films are aimed at teenagers and young adults. Cho and Suplee are part of a wider ensemble. Deadline also named Danny Jolles, Arnas Fedaravičius, Ana Ortiz, Jacob Vargas and Michelle Macedo as new cast members.

The film is directed by Jason Perlman and written by Brandon Cohen. Debbie Liebling, Joel David Moore and Zachary Burgess are producing.

The story follows Isabelle, played by Madeleine McGraw, and Kira, played by Xochitl Gomez. They are on a road trip home for spring break when they pick up a hitchhiker called Liam, who is a mystery. Jack Champion was announced earlier as one of the film's stars, alongside McGraw and Gomez.

Deadline describes the film as a modern-day take on Thelma & Louise, the 1991 road movie about two women on the run. The trade paper says it is fuelled by female rage, which is a strong pitch for a horror story built around two friends and a stranger in a car.

Sales are being handled by Capture. A sales company is the business that takes a finished film to distributors, the companies that release films in cinemas and on screens in different countries, and tries to sell it to them. Deadline did not, in the material this piece is built on, give a release date or a distributor for the film.

For now, the news is about the people in front of and behind the camera. A film with a young lead cast, a writer and a producing team, and a sales company already attached, has moved from the set into the stage where buyers decide where it will be seen.
