FlareFlow, a service built around short vertical episodes, will launch in Thailand on 2 November through AIS Play, the entertainment service of telecom operator Advanced Info Service (AIS). Variety reports that the deal was brokered by Singapore-based distributor Rock Networks.

"Vertical" means the episodes are shot to be watched upright on a phone. FlareFlow is a microdrama platform, which means its series are split into very short episodes, often a few minutes each. The service is owned by COL Group. It says it has released more than 5,000 series, supports 14 languages and has more than 50 million registered users in over 200 countries and territories.

In Thailand, subscribers will pay THB39 (about $1.15) a month. AIS Play will carry a FlareFlow section with series in English, Chinese and Korean, all with Thai subtitles. The English-language launch title is From Janitor to Mrs Billionaire. The Chinese-language title is Rise of Aurora's Fallen General. The Korean Boys' Love series, which centres on romance between men, is My Team Leader Is Working Late Again.

The Thai slate also includes SupermodelMe: Make It or Break It, a vertical-format reality contest fronted by Cindy Bishop.

AIS is a large base to launch into. It counted 53.9 million customers as of June 2026. That figure includes 47.1 million 5G mobile subscribers and 5.3 million fixed broadband subscribers on its AIS 3BB Fibre3 service. A telco launch puts the service in front of people who already pay for a phone or home internet, so they do not need to find a separate app or sign up somewhere new to see it.

The two companies also plan to look beyond imported series. They intend to explore Thai content development, work with local creators, and localise material for Thailand and Southeast Asia. They also plan new entertainment formats for mobile screens. No titles, budgets or production dates for those projects have been announced.

Rock Networks is FlareFlow's exclusive partner for telco and streaming-app integrations across Asia, according to the same report. Beatrice Lee is chief executive of Rock Networks. Timothy Oh is general manager of COL Group International and chief marketing officer of FlareFlow.

For Thai viewers, the change is simple. From 2 November, short series in three languages will sit inside AIS Play, subtitled in Thai, for a monthly fee of THB39.
