FlareFlow and Shorts Team Up on Four-Title Microdrama Slate Launching August 21

Singapore's FlareFlow and France's Shorts are joining forces on a four-title microdrama slate, with new episodes rolling out weekly on both platforms from Friday, 21 August 2026. The slate covers four genres: fantasy, action, supernatural, and revenge Deadline.
Microdramas are short-form, vertical-video series designed for phone viewing, often released in bite-sized episodes that run a minute or two each. The format has boomed across Asia and is now pushing into Europe and beyond.
FlareFlow is the flagship app of COL Group, a Singapore-based operation that has built itself into one of the largest microdrama platforms in the market. Shorts is a France-based vertical-video microdrama service operated by parent company Luni. The new collaboration marks Shorts' first multi-project co-production partnership of its kind Deadline.
Timothy Oh, who serves as General Manager of COL Group and Chief Marketing Officer of FlareFlow, commented on the partnership, as did AJ Letterel, Product Manager and Executive Producer at Luni. Neither executive's remarks included additional title or financial details in the report.
This is not Shorts' only slate in the works. In late 2025, the French service struck an exclusive production pact with Los Angeles-based Fumero Films covering a 40-title microdrama slate Deadline.
FlareFlow, meanwhile, has been widening its own reach. On the eve of the 2026 World Cup, Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. launched a 16-title microdrama slate on the platform Deadline. Earlier in the year, COL Group's microdrama arm appointed Narativ Media as its official distributor across the Middle East and North Africa, with FlareFlow handling carrier integrations and subscription rollouts across telecom ecosystems in the region Deadline; Variety.
For viewers, the four new titles mean a fresh weekly pipeline of short-form drama arriving simultaneously on two platforms based on opposite sides of the world. For the business behind them, it pairs a Singapore platform with deep Asian-market experience alongside a European service still building its production slate.
