Two indie games, Celeste and TowerFall, are no longer for sale on Xbox, and their developer says the removal was intentional.

Maddy Thorson confirmed the move in a Bluesky post published on 29 October 2026. She said both games were deliberately delisted from Xbox to support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, a campaign that calls for economic pressure on Israel. Delisted means a game has been removed from a store, so new buyers can no longer purchase it there.

According to Eurogamer, published on 30 October 2026, Celeste and TowerFall are now completely unavailable for purchase within the Xbox ecosystem. The same report says both games remain on sale on PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch.

The BDS campaign has also urged people to take further steps. Eurogamer reports that it has asked people to cancel Game Pass subscriptions, which give access to a library of games for a monthly fee, and to boycott Xbox franchises including Call of Duty and Candy Crush. It has also called on people to stop buying Microsoft gaming products.

Players who want Celeste or TowerFall can still buy them on the other platforms listed above.
