Ubisoft Says No Other Assassin's Creed Remake Is in Active Development

Ubisoft says it has no other Assassin's Creed remake in active development. The statement appeared in a post titled "Assassin's Creed: Fall 2026 Update", published on October 29, 2026.
A remake is a new version of an older game, rebuilt for modern consoles and PCs. In 2024, Ubisoft chief executive Yves Guillemot said several Assassin's Creed remakes were in active development. The new update takes a different line.
Ubisoft said its teams are focused on the next chapter of the series. That includes unannounced projects with new settings and stories. "Unannounced" means the company has not yet revealed a name, platform or release window for them. The company also said it will keep looking at ways to bring older Assassin's Creed games back.
The update was written as a message from the developers themselves. It covered their commitment to the community, the latest news on recent releases, and hints at what is coming next.
The most recent remake is Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. It was released on July 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Eurogamer reports that the game sold more than 3.5 million copies and beat annual sales expectations within its first 14 days.
The game's final major content update arrived on October 26, 2026. Ubisoft listed it as featuring New Game+, a mode that lets players start the story again with their progress carried over, and Nightmare Difficulty, the hardest setting. The update also added new content.
Ubisoft's message to fans is that the series is still moving forward, even without another remake in the works. The company has not tied the unannounced projects to any date in the update, so players will have to wait for official news on what comes next.
