Skid Row has named Justin Sargent as its new lead singer. The band unveiled him on October 29, 2026, with a cover of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again," Billboard reported on October 30.

The hard rock band said it spent more than two years searching around the world for its next frontman before it chose Sargent. He is a Broadway veteran who made his stage debut in 2011 in the musical Rock of Ages. He has also appeared in Bonnie & Clyde, and he played the lead in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

Sargent has also worked on television, with roles in Royal Pains, Mr. Robot and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Skid Row said it has been in the studio with him, preparing for what it calls the next chapter.

The band has changed singers before. Sebastian Bach fronted Skid Row from 1987 to 1996, taking over from original singer Matt Fallon. The group reformed in 1999 with Johnny Solinger. When Bach was unavailable, Judas Priest's Rob Halford stepped in for some live shows in 1992. In 2024, Halestorm's Lzzy Hale served as temporary lead singer.

The announcement was published on the band's website and framed as a celebration of 40 years. The band said it had been away from the stage for more than two years. It paired the news with a new music video for the Who cover and offered a limited-edition signed 7-inch vinyl single, a small record with one track on each side. The announcement also included upcoming concert dates.

The band's website lists its current lineup as Sargent on lead vocals, Rachel Bolan on bass and backing vocals, Snake Sabo on guitar and backing vocals, and Scotti Hill on guitar and backing vocals.

Playbill reported that the band will release a new single on October 30.

November brings two more releases. On November 6, the band's compilation 40 Seasons: The Best of Skid Row arrives on vinyl and CD through BMG, a music company. The collection has been newly remastered, a process of refreshing the sound of older recordings, and it is available on vinyl for the first time. It includes "Youth Gone Wild," "18 And Life" and "Slave To The Grind." The band says it marks 40 years since the group was formed.

On November 27, Skid Row has a special release for Record Store Day, the annual event when independent record shops sell limited releases. It is the band's first-ever Record Store Day release. It is a picture disc, a record with artwork printed under the vinyl, and it features songs from the band's live set at the Moscow Music Peace Festival.

For a band that has been on the road for four decades, the next month is full of new material, old songs and a new voice to hear them in. Fans who want the physical versions will need to visit a record shop or the band's online store when the releases arrive.
